Great place for many sports, family days out and watching events.Over the last few years, Holme Pierrepont has had many additions and park improvements to appeal to all ages. Canoeing, Segways, foot golf, sky train. This is all above the huge flat water lake and white water course. If you're not interested in any of that, it's also a nice place to walk or cycle round.Recommended.
There's such a huge range of things to do here that you could spend days exploring. The playground is well equipped, appealing to a broad range of kids.The running/cycling path around the sailing lake is well paved and allows plenty of space for all the people who are using it.The leisure centre also has a great range of facilities you can use, including clean toilets, comfortable seating area and a cafe.
Only been here for Outlaw events. So know the water very well, for swimming in and running around. I've seen it all by foot, and looks nice, will go back one day when no competing.
A beautiful place to visit. The swans and ducks on the lake was a welcome sight. It felt like a haven, a place of refuge for them and for me too. In a world where animals are often mistreated, abused even, it was moving to see them going about their life. I would recommend this place, especially if one is hurting inside. I saw a bus stop outside the sports complex. So it is accessible, not sure what number bus covers the route. I will find out.
Love going for a walk around this area. Went with grandson and dog and both enjoyed our walk. Good footpaths if the weather not so good, but plenty to look at and explore. A cafe for a drink and snacks but a bit depleted on the day we went as was a weekday and not a lot of people around. Weekends can be popular and often events are on, especially on the white water rapids or on the rowing lake. Always feel safe and enjoyable for nice long walks.
