Jan-19 update. Another issue trying to buy decent wool trousers in-store. I'm a fairly standard size and none in across the various racks of trousers. Another person next to me had same issue. Staff were behind tills discussing non-work topics, no assistance offered. This was my second trip in three days on the way home and clearly no new stock has been put on the rack. I could of gone to the tills and asked them to help but having spent 10-15 minutes looking through all the racks in front of them, if they wanted to help they would of before I go to them.I could order online from M&S but I won't. I can get better trousers elsewhere online, their whole value was me buying them as decent enough at mid-price here in the shop. I can go for more expensive trousers with loyalty or sales discount online and get much better for not much more. Even the decent wool trousers in M&S are only 50% wool unless you pay 100. I can get pure flannel or cavalry twill trousers for 65 upwards from others. If you can't buy decent formal trousers from M&S but can buy endless circa 20 100% polyester ones there (that never seem to sell) then it confirms that M&S has lost their way with the core customers. Young people in all the various slim and skinny fits aren't in M&S buying, they are online or at H&M and River Island, yet people of middle age and upwards who would buy are increasingly not catered for in sizing availability, fit or quality. There were far too many ranges of similar trousers on the racks, sometimes on the same rack from the polyester ones through 'wool blend', 'performance wool', 'rich wool' or can only get '100% wool' online.I'm done, it's too hard. I'll sort it online with others. This is surely why M&S clothing sales continue to fall?Dec-17 review. Their tailored menswear jackets now sadly cut so slim that they do not fit their typical customers. Younger man next to me had same issue so seems cut is all wrong. Too much product on show looking cluttered and confused but quality and discernment no longer in evidence. Uncertain who they are for anymore.

Good value best qualityWe love Marks, we have a credit card with them. For clothes hard to beat but the food is to die for

It's like all M&S store's, staffed by either really helpful and good staff and the other extreme staff who just couldn't give a dam.The shop I very non descript and like all M&S store's there's no distinguishing features to identify the shop's individuality. It was clean and tidy although the men's toilet on my visit smelt like the drains were blocked and the smelt affected the staircase and escalator area.I managed to find everything that I needed and wanted.

Marks and Sparks, you have to love it. There comes a time in a man's life when you will prefer their travel denim trousers to that of fashionable brands' . And I have come to that stage in my life. The only really disappointing things is that on Boxing Day there seems to be more stuff on sales lines for ladies than for gentlemen.

How much do you need to know about a Marks and Spencer ffs? Why just everything be reviewed and rated and given stars? It's a department store, not a restaurant, for the love of god. Anyway, M&S is a fine staple of the British High Street that sells reasonably priced reasonable quality clothes for the middle classes.
