Such a beautiful place. The Hall is magnificent, and great for kids to learn about fossils and see the stuffed animals.The grounds are amazing and change with the seasons.There's also a lake to walk around, but if it's been raining, bring your wellies Well behaved Dogs are also welcome in the grounds and caf's.
Exquisite location. Free to visit the park and museum (only a small parking charge) and a wonderful day out for the family. The deer wander amongst the public and are well looked after. If you have kids this is a great place to take them. Only a short drive from the city and absolutely worth it. Certainly a must visit.
Wollaton Hall is a lovely place to visit. As you enter there's a play area for young children with climbing frames. There is then the car park - this has a fee but it isn't a lot. There is then an uphill walk to the Hall but the view is wonderful. In the summer there is a car show at Wollaton and all along the hill are classic cars which is a great day!The hall itself is a nature museum with lots of rooms and information. Downstairs there is a room that has some information about the history of the house and the family which is also interesting. There is also some children activities at the house. The Hall is also known for being Wayne Manor in the Dark Knight film and there is a children's activity to find the bat stickers around the house which is a nice "hats off" gesture. There is also and industrial museum where the outhouse is. The grounds are extensive and lovely, I recommend walking around the gardens in the summer as they are truly beautiful, plus there is the lake that you can walk round and is equally lovely. As you can tell there is much to do!
How wonderful to find somewhere, that apart from parking, is free. To walk around the Hall is free ! To walk in the garden is also free ! We did pay to go on a private tour, which takes you to hidden away places, and both my husband and I said it was well worth the cost. The lady who did the tour was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and made the history of the house come alive. The collections of stuffed animals, some may find upsetting, but you have to remember that it was a different time back then. I would recommend this Hall and gardens to everyone.
A great place to visit in any weather. lots going in and things to see. Babies - there are paths although they can be busy around the car parks. Baby changing is available and also change units in the men's toilets. To gain access to the hall you cannot take pushchairs. There is a buggy park outside. Less mobile - disabled blue badge spaces next to the hall and wheelchair lift to the right. Getting around the grounds would be a rolling hills landscape with steep on as leading to the hall. Family fun- usually events going on and a good play area for children. has a cafe and toilets attached and is conveniently next to the car park car park- 3 for 3 hours. takes the go ringo app also cafes and toilets - a few to choose from. coffee and tea is reasonably priced and they are well decorated and staffed.mobile drinks vans also around the park Dog's- dog friendly cafe with drinking water outside lots of space to walk. Dear and ducks on the loose though so watch out overall a lovely park for walking, running, couples and families
