It is closed until 2020, but should then be amazing.
20 Jan 2019: Sadly the Nottingham Castle will be closed for the next two years, this is because major reconstruction work is in progress. Hopefully when the work is completed the place will look more like the original Nottingham Castle in all its glory. Oh, please don't forget Robin Hood and his Band of Merry Men.

I far preferred it when Nottingham residents used to get in for free. It is not a castle like Warwick. It's mainly a Victorian building and is used as an art gallery. I love the gardens and I used to regularly go to the cafe , before they started charging local residents. I wonder if my tax subsidises it, I bet it does.
