Amazing place! Inspirational
Unfortunate combination of a lovely collection of interesting books and a very patronising and rude owner.
The shop owner explained how he does talks at my university. I bought 3 magazines at full price, then he shows up at my university that week and offers everyone in my class amazing discounts on reading. I felt a bit cheated.
What a fantastic little shop!! It was wonderful to find such a wide range of books and magazines, whilst I would have happily spent all day perusing every shelf it was extremely useful to have the proprietor on hand and able to translate my interests in to a stack of interesting publications. Sadly I wasnt in a position to buy them all however I was given an opportunity to leaf through each of them at my leisure in a quiet corner of the shop and in the end chose three. This is a great shop that will enable you to find a wide range of magazines that you almost certainly didnt know existed! Highly recommended.
Great shop and Alex is a great guy, very knowledgeable and down for a chat! Very surprised to see bad reviews to be fair as I've had nothing short of great service from him. Has a great selection of magazines, everything from Hypebeast to Cereal and Monocle. He's also got some amazing design books in, such as some rarities such as Winkreative design stories. At the end of the day if you're not a time waster and you have a genuine interest in his stock and are looking to make some purchases then Ideas on Paper is definitely the place to go. I've been to various magazine stores all over the UK to Mainland Europe and I'd say ideas on Paper has the best selection, by far as well. Will definitely be returning to make more purchases!
