Rang them today over needing to see a locally based solicitor skilled in housing law. Was routed through to a central switchboard of theirs, rather than direct to the Nottingham office itself. Told by the operator taking my call that the lines were busy to the housing department (no, surely not!!), and she would arrange a call back to me within 24 hours. I asked her to confirm whether the housing solicitor would be based in Nottingham. "No," she said. "The nearest one is in Luton." "Luton!!" I said. "Well, the solicitor might be able to travel up and see you in Nottingham," she told me. "Luton is about 100 miles away," I said. "You'll need to speak to the solicitor about that," she said, helpfully. Perhaps the solicitor can move Luton a bit nearer for me.?? Nearer than the three inches away it appears to be on the map their operator taking my call is looking at. Hopeless.P.S. 24 hours later - no call back.
