Superb meal, in old fashioned, sedate surroundings, limited choice but super quality. I shall definitely be returning.12 of us in my party, 3 courses each, not one complaint!
The service was excellent and the food even better. We were recommended a wine that was delicious but they didn't have a second chilled bottle so recommended something that worked just as well. All the dishes were delicious. The game terreen was a good sized portion and very nice. Everyone who had the soup raved about it too. The blade of beef was succulent and fell apart. Finished off with a chocolate terreen. The building is an old lodge and is full of character. The only issue we had was with seating. As a group of 14 we were split on to separate tables but this wasn't a major issue. This is a hidden gem
Limited choice but great value & really tasty. We dined at 8.15pm on a Saturday night & we were the only people in the restaurant which we obviously weren't expecting. That being said, the setting was interesting & our waitress was really friendly.
Hidden gem. This restaurant is hidden away in the Belgrave Rooms. Really nice decor inside. Limited menu, but good quality food at very inexpensive prices. Went on a Saturday night before 7pm and paid 12.50 for 2 courses. Ideally located for events in town. We were the only people in the restaurant. Service was very good, quick and friendly.
A classical aesthetic, tidy and quiet for our evening, but less the hote' cuisine I was hoping for and not really a fully complimented bar. Not as much choice on menu and missing some panache on the plate. Otherwise tasty fare and fairly priced.
