Take note that the Ticket office opening times on website are inaccurate (Monday - Friday 06:10 - 19:45) having checked the opening times on the National Rail website before my visit, I arrived at 12.45pm expecting it to be open. The only serving window was closed with the blind pulled down, saying it was not open until 1pm and to "go to the next window" - there isn't another window, there is only one at Beeston Station. I appreciate staff need a lunch break but perhaps this should be factored into the opening times on the National Rail website.When I was served, the woman behind at the Ticket office window, was unbearably and unnecessarily rude. It was obvious I had been waiting patiently for 15 minutes. She opened the blind/serving window, and continued a conversation with her colleague for several minutes without even looking me in the eye. When she did, she didn't even bother to greet me, failed to apologise for keeping me waiting and was very rude and unhelpful with my enquiry. East Midlands need to train their staff in customer service skills - this is not the first time I have encountered such rude and unhelpful staff. What does it cost to merely offer a "Hello", "sorry to keep you waiting," "how can I help you?" And offer information willingly and give clear explanations, instead of treating the customer like an idiot and behaving as though the ins and outs of the National Rail ticketing system are obvious to all.
Could do with a spruce up
mostly used the self service tills outside or booked online , when I have gone to the window staff has been helpful and have advised on a cheaper ticket for travel , station platforms are clean but platform 2 could do with upgrading looks a bit outdated and seats etc look aged and tired
Appalling staff. Bought tickets online. The ticket machine was out of order so I went to the woman at the kiosk who didn't help at all and was rude. Put me to one side and dealt with everyone else. Nearly missed my train as I had as waiting for a lengthy time before something was done about my issue. Poor customer service......
In spite of all my years in Nottingham and travelling on the trains to and from various destinations and frequently halting briefly at Beeston Station, sometimes slightly annoyed as it prolongs the journey down to its and my ultimate destination in all that time I have never set foot on Beeston Station's platforms. It looks clean and tidy, there is a large car park and a fair number of East Midlands Trains trains halt at it so to the local Beestonians and the Beeston hinterland it must be useful in saving the arduous trek into the Centre of Nottingham and therefore sparing the yokels the palpitating excitement of visiting the great metropolis. Lucky old Beestonians. I with them the all the best but I intend never to set foot in the place.
