I have been unexpectedly removed as a patient, difficulty getting repeat prescriptions filled having to return to surgery to have another prescription made up because an item was left off. The last straw for me... I recently had emergency hernia surgery. I could not get an emergency appointment. Even after being in the surgery a few days before with an infection things had gotten worse. The receptionist did not take me seriously so I ended up calling 999. Good thing I did I ended up on IV antibiotics for over two weeks. After finally getting home, I was on a vac wound dressing that required district nurse visits and special equipment. The DN sent the surgery an email explaining what things were needed and why. One item was 20 canisters for the vac. The surgery took it upon themselves to reduce this to one. I have to change the canister everyday. I was told the doc could only write prescription for one at a time (lie). Had DN call them they said new prescription was with doc. One week later of chasing and excuses the prescription still had not been written. How is a person who just had surgery to get better if they have to fight with their GP to get vital prescription needed for their recovery. And every time you chased it up you were lied to.Sorry but my health more important than to put up with this treatment.
As a professional I ring lots of GP practices throughout Nottingham and have had both bad and good experiences however this surgery is something else. I am truly shocked and appalled at the overall attitude and lack of customer service or even the most basic communication skills of the reception staff ( some basic customer service training would advisable to say the least). Whilst I appreciate that they are on the front line and probably receive the brunt of peoples frustrations at the lack of appointments available I do think that they should try and not be rude. This morning I tried to make an emergency appointment for my dad so was ringing as a concerned relative rather than as a professional and was gobsmacked at the attitude of the receptionist. As soon as she answered the telephone her tone was aggressive a quick tip if you start a conversation with a stinking attitude you are more likely to spend your day getting attitude from the people calling you ( I actually held restraint but it took a whole lot of willpower) firstly I was told I should have rang earlier it was 9.09 when I got to speak to a member of their reception staff ( I was not even complaining or even giving her reason to think I would and I was actually being told off) I went on to say I had been trying to ring earlier before I could even finish she responded with no you havent without letting me explain she then said if anyone cancels I can call you . I thanked her then all of a sudden she said oh someone has just cancelled you can have that ( so either by some fluke someone had cancelled in that second or she was satisfied that I was submissive to her power). Due to the frustration of the experience of making what should be a a relatively simple appointment I didnt realise that he had another important hospital appointment ( unrelated to why I was calling )and there was a chance we would not make I so rang back to cancel it knowing how difficult it is to get an appointment so someone else could make use of it and hoping that I could make use of the first offer and receive a call if someone cancelled. Another receptionist answered a bit better than the last who said thank you and said I think we have another appointment available later in the day at this point I could hear the original receptionist saying its gone she is not having it I have given her one already. I was then put on hold obviously realising that I could hear the lovely attitude. Then when reconnected I was told that I should physically turn up within him tomorrow morning to make an emergancy appointment if I cannot do so in on the phone and then the line went dead. Where she had decided that this was the end of discussion. I know with the information I provided she should have advised that if he needed to be seen before tomorrow/ if he gets worse I should present him at a&e however she is presuming everyone knows this placing patients in danger !! I am not writing this review because I could not get an appointment I am writing this because of the overall frustration I felt trying to make an appointment I fear that someone who is vulnerable or very unwell may not seek medical advice or intervention because of this very aggressive gatekeeping and the stinking attitude of the staff who seem to enjoy and misuse the little bit of power they hold.

Receptionist have no manners at all. It very bad service GP. Avoid
Never have I ever experienced a bad-mannered, rude and genuinely disrespectful person(s) until I moved to this GP clinic. The receptionists are awful and so un-gracious it's ridiculous. If you hate your job leave. Or maybe they need to find a job in a cardboard box with no interaction with service-users.
