Treated myself to a used Brooks Titanium Swift for my Alfine-hubbed, steel framed, 90s retro-racer/audax 'weapon' ;) via their eBay sales, but Hermes went and lost the flippin parcel. Bikeworks refunded me without quibble. Really can't complain about that. Excellent service. (If the saddle does somehow turn up Tom, I'll do the decent thing and return it. Via Parcelforce/dpd.... )
Did city and guilds training there, can't fault them.
1st visit - took bike for a service and neither of the issues I highlighted were properly addressed. In fact, bike was returned even worse than I left it, as the rear brakes were now binding. To the shop's credit (hence 2nd star) they took it back in at earliest opportunity and rectified the two major issues. However, having replaced the stem, the mechanic left the headset misaligned. The staff here are friendly and approachable, but I am not confident in the quality of their work.
I was offered a "free bike service" by Nottingham bikeworks at university campus, however I did not expect to have my bike returned in a worse condition than it came in. Asked for two simple things: do NOT touch my brake cables and tighten my headset as I did not have tools to do that myself. The guy took it upon himself to adjust my brake cables regardless and left a kink in each of them. What is more, he loosened my headset to the point where it would rattle and shift around. The bike was not suitable for a safe ride after the service. Would not recommend.
Avoid at any cost. Left my bike with them for a week. Bike came back in worst condition than I left it with. Gears on my bike were barely operable, white leather seat was covered in greasy finger prints. Contact them to get refund and was told to bring me bike back to get it fixed. No way I will give them my bike again.
