This hotel is ok if you just need a cheap place to rest and want to be in the centre of town. Its very 70s - dated and popular with national holiday goers so is often filled with the older generation. Plus side is location as its near all the best shops , pubs and tourism. The castle is a walk away.
It is a budget and I mean budget hotel, it feels like a YMCA more than a hotel it's not the worst I've stayed in but can do with giving the place a deep clean. And fixing the broken drawer and a cover over the ends of the sofa would have been preferable to the threadbare look. All amenities were provided and the staff were very helpful. Shame the shabbyness of the room let it down or it would have been a lovely little hotel.
ENJOYED HAPPY HOUR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. BEDROOM AND BATHROOM CLEAN. WE ALL HAD THREE COURSE MEAL AND ENJOYED BREAKFAST. NOBODY ELSE IN RESTAURANT VERY QUIET.
Noisey heating left on until about 3 am, can't turn it off yourself and one of the reception girls told me they would turn it off around 9-10 which was obviously because of the time it actually went off! There's what appears to be a thermostat on the wall that doesn't actually work! Night staff are extremely rude and unhelpful! I've been made ill by staying at this hotel because of the extreme heating blowing dust then the fact the when the heating went off it became ice cold! One of the lifts didn't work so had keep running up and down the stairs to go to the bar, bar staff were very nice and helpful though! Doors to get into the hotel don't actually work either, it seems not much in this hotel works, would definitely never stay here again, if I could of rated it 0 stars I would have!
Budget hotel, but clean with friendly staff. Breakfast excellent, evening meal average and if not on package, would probably have eaten out. Nice touch to have a fridge in your room, with hairdryer, iron and board. Drinks very reasonably priced. Ideal location for Nottingham city centre, with discounted NCP car park 2 minutes away. Although car parking is not the cheapest.
